Employee Emergency Assistance Program
The Employee Emergency Assistance Program (EEAP)鈥攕upported by Friends of the University鈥攐ffers short-term financial help to 性吧导航 employees facing unexpected hardships.
The program provides up to $1,000 per fiscal year to eligible faculty and staff who experience unforeseen emergencies beyond their control. This assistance is not a loan and does not require repayment. It is one way the 性吧导航 community supports one another in times of need.
Eligibility
The EEAP is open to full-time and regular part-time employees, as well as adjunct faculty, who have been employed with the university for at least six consecutive months.
Eligible employees may apply for help with unexpected, unavoidable expenses such as:
- Medical or accident-related costs
- Fire, flood, or storm damage
- Funeral or travel expenses related to a family death
- Sudden loss of housing or the need for temporary shelter
- Essential utilities or critical living expenses due to an emergency
Because this fund is supported through private donations, some expenses fall outside the program's scope. Court costs, legal fees, or other non-emergency expenses are not eligible.
How to Apply
To request assistance, complete the online Employee Emergency Assistance Program application using the link below.
Applications may be submitted once per fiscal year, and awards are subject to the availability of funds. The Employee Emergency Assistance Committee reviews all applications confidentially in partnership with the 性吧导航 Foundation.
Employee Classifications
To quality for assistance, employees must meet one of the following classifications. In rare exceptions, the EEAP Committee may make an exception in extreme, well-documented situations.
Full-Time Employee
Holds a position funded by the university's appropriation act and appointed at 80-100%
Regular Part-Time Employee
Regularly works at least 20 hours per week and is eligible for university benefits such as prorated leave and holiday pay.
Adjunct Faculty
Actively teaching during the semester in which the request is submitted. Must have been employed with the university for at least six consecutive months.
Review and Disbursement
Applications are reviewed according to the 性吧导航 Employee Handbook and program guidelines. If approved, the employee will be notified by the Assistant Director of Advancement Data Quality and Management. Funds are disbursed through payroll after the completion of a Taxable Fringe Benefits Reporting Form. Records are maintained by the 性吧导航 Foundation for reporting and accountability purposes.
Funding and Administration
The Employee Emergency Assistance Program is made possible through private gifts to the 性吧导航 Foundation. Because the program relies on donor support, the availability of assistance may vary.
The 性吧导航 Foundation, Inc. does not discriminate based on race, color, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, or marital status in its policies or practices.
