Things to remember...
- You could be awarded a Merit Scholarship, or any other of ÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏÌúËãÅÌ’s Entrance Scholarships, in addition to any bursary payment/s you are eligible for.
- To be eligible for any of the bursaries offered by ÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏÌúËãÅÌ you must complete the Application for Student Finance (PN1) form- this is the method used to assess eligibility for student loans, maintenance grants etc, and your eligibility for any of the bursaries will be assessed on the basis of the same form.
- Bursaries will only be available to full-time, undergraduate students who are paying the full fee of £9,000, and registered and in attendance 14 days prior to the particular bursary payment date.
- Students in receipt of other bursary payments (e.g. NHS, Health & Social Care Council) will not be eligible for the bursaries scheme.
- Bursary payments will be administered and distributed by the Student Loans Company on behalf of the University – so you must complete the Application for Student Finance (PN1) form to be able to receive a bursary payment from ÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏÌúËãÅÌ.

The Department of Welsh and Celtic Studies at ÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏÌúËãÅÌ is pleased to be able to offer the following bursaries to support students studying Welsh as part of a single, with, or joint honours degree.
Glynne Family Bursary (North Wales Award): This bursary of up to £1250 maximum during the first year of study, with a maximum eight awards available.
To be eligible applicants must either (1) have attended secondary school/college, or (2) be normally resident in one of the following counties: Isle of Anglesey, Conwy, Denbighshire, Flintshire, Gwynedd, Wrexham
Glynne Family Bursary (All-Wales Award): This bursary of up to £500 maximum during the first year of study, with a maximum five awards available.
To be eligible applicants must either (1) have attended secondary school/college, or (2) be normally resident in Wales.

Conditions and Eligibility
These bursaries are available to UK students who have applied for and go on to enrol on a BA degree in the department of Welsh and Celtic Studies at ÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏÌúËãÅÌ. Successful students will receive a single bursary award, payable in their first year of study only. Eligible students:
- Must commence their BA degree at ÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏÌúËãÅÌ in September 2024 in a single honours ‘Cymraeg (Welsh)’, 'Cymraeg (Welsh) with...’, joint honours ‘Cymraeg (Welsh) and...’, or ‘Another subject with Cymraeg (Welsh)’ degree offered by the Department.
- Must be enrolled (FT or PT) on an eligible degree course (see * below).
- For the north Wales award, will have attended secondary school/college and/or be resident in north Wales (namely, Isle of Anglesey, Conwy, Denbighshire, Flintshire, Gwynedd, Wrexham).
- For the All-Wales award, will have attended secondary school/college and/or be resident in Wales.

The School of Arts Cultures and Languages is pleased to be able to offer a bursary of up to £2000 to support students studying English Literature and Creative Writing at ÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏÌúËãÅÌ as part of an undergraduate degree course starting in September 2024. Successful recipients will be awarded a bursary of up to £2000 maximum during the first year of study. A maximum four awards are available.
To be eligible applicants must fulfil at least one of the following criteria:
- have attended secondary school/college in Wales and/or
- be normally resident in Wales.
